Detached Home in Encinitas!!! Price Reduced To $530,000!
Posted by Christine Kueneke | Leave A Comment »
I was writing this blog earlier today about my listing when I noticed a recent post by Bob Chase regarding Encinitas. Bob does a great job of describing many of the wonderful aspects of living in Encinitas.
We have the best beaches, great surf, and friendly people. My family and I truly enjoyed the Encinitas Holiday Parade this past Saturday. I am also really looking forward to the opening of the new Whole Foods Market in the heart of Old Encinitas on the 101.
Now to my FABULOUS listing! 1167 Monterey Place
This home has a wonderful open floor plan with a formal dining area, living room and a family room with a cozy fireplace. There are plantation shutters in the living room and dining area, laminate wood floors downstairs and new carpet. There are two master suites plus a loft!
Built in 1998, this property is located in the fabulous Mendocino neighborhood of Encinitas. Ideal location! Close to shopping, parks, golfing, restaurants, and the beach (everything is close to the beach in Encinitas!)
Some other great features include a Whole House Water Filtration System, newer stucco, UV light protection on east facing windows, central heating, and a gas line for your BBQ.
By the way, there are only eight detached homes on the MLS for sale in the Encinitas zip code (92024) priced under $550,000.

Intriguing Snapshots of Encinitas
Posted by Dee Marie Fisher | Leave A Comment »

I love challenges and I found a new one with the table top book “Encinitas Insight… a Photographer’s Journey” by Karla M. Ogilvie. Her photographs are intriguing and beautiful scenes around Encinitas. Remember that Encinitas includes the communities of Leucadia, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, and Olivenhain!
My challenge is to identify the location of the photographs. Yes, there is a section in the back “Captions” that describes many of the photographs. I’ll look at that section after I drive around Encinitas for the next few weeks attempting to locate all the unusual items Karla photographed depicting our great city… Encinitas, California 92024!
Want to have a contest on who identifies the most photographs? Hey, to some of my clients, you may already recognize this book and wish to join in on the contest.

Free Concerts: One of the Best Reasons to Live in North County San Diego
Posted by Paul Morales | Currently 1 Comment »
There are so many great reasons to live in North County but a favorite for so many residents, including myself, has always been the abundance of free or low cost entertainment.
Well, kicking off in just a couple weeks is the 2009′ – TGIF Jazz in the Parks Concert Series in Carlsbad. The concerts are one of several event series presented by a host of North San Diego County cities that include Encinitas, Carlsbad, Oceanside, & Vista. These events are presented outdoors in the mild and inviting summer evenings that are one of the reasons people come here from all over the world to vacation and that we, as residents, enjoy for calling this area home.
The TGIF Jazz in the Parks Concert Series is family, as well as adult friendly, and you can’t argue with the price because it’s free. The series features local performers as well as nationally recognized “touring” bands that cover a wide range of jazz, blues, regional & world music. The ten concerts in the series are produced on consecutive Friday evenings beginning on June 19th and continue through August 21st with performances running from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Thanks for visiting! If you live in Carlsbad, one of the surrounding cities or plan on moving here then make it a point to check back here for some of the reasons why this is such a great place to call home.

Presented by the Cultural Arts Office/City of Carlsbad
The 24th season of TGIF Jazz in the Parks has received generous support from the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts. Major support for the Opportunity Drawings, which are organized and conducted by the Friends, comes from AjaMed Lifestyle Spa in Del Mar, Alaska Airlines, Legoland, and Pueblo Bonito Oceanside Resorts & Spas Mexico. Concerts are produced by Rob Hagey Productions. The free Souvenir Program is produced in collaboration with Wheelhouse Media, LLC, publisher of Carlsbad Magazine.
What to Bring – and Not Bring
Patrons should bring low-back beach chairs and ground cover to TGIF concerts. Long-sleeve shirts, long pants, and insect repellent with “deet” are recommended as a precaution against mosquitoes. Many patrons bring picnics; light refreshments are also available for sale. At each intermission, Opportunity Drawings are conducted by the Carlsbad Friends of the Arts to support the concert series and other cultural programs.
The use of bikes, skateboards, skates and roller blades is NOT allowed in the parks during concerts.
Pets and personal barbeques are NOT allowed in City parks by municipal ordinance.
