Windermere Agent Next Honorary Mayor of Rancho Bernardo!
Posted by Nancy Canfield | Leave A Comment »

That’s right, our own RB Windermere Agent Patti Hall is a candidate for the position of Honorary Mayor of Rancho Bernardo . What does that mean, you ask? Well, as the only twice winner myself in 07 and 08 (humble bow) I can speak on that subject.
The position was begun by the then Rancho Bernardo Chamber of Commerce over 20 years ago. RB could never get the city of SD Mayor out to its events, as we were considered not that important, a retirement community, little clout. So, the Chamber of Commerce, decided to have their own Mayor who would oversee ribbon cuttings for new businesses, officiate at the Thanksgiving and State of the Community luncheons, and as general ambassador at street fairs, election campaigns, and similar community events. During the fires of 2007, i was frequently interviewed for my insight into the RB Community.
The win is not by popularity, but just like real elections – candidates buy the votes:) That is, they host three or four fundraisers where guests donate and are treated to scrumptuous food, buy raffle tickets, and perhaps enjoy an entertainment. The important part is that the money raised goes to the Chambers’ community programs.
Patti asked that a portion of her proceeds go specifically to Education, as there are so many needs at the local schools, due to severe budget cuts. For instance, the RB High Library’s books average 18 years old - older than most of the 1200 kids who research and study there every day! Likewise, local schools need funds for children whose families are unable to provide adequate food and necessities each day. So, money you donate to Patti’s campaign is going to the essential needs of our kids! And, they may be tax deductible.
San Diego North Chamber of Commerce, encompassing Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa, Carmel Mountain, Penasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, and parts of Escondido, has over 1,200 members. The 1,200 pound Gorilla has way more clout these days! Actually, Mayor Sanders loves to come out here where he got started on his first police patrol many years ago.
Patti will be holding four fundraising events where you can ‘purchase votes’ for as little as $5 each or 6 for $25. To learn more about Patti and her campaign, call her at (858) 414-3950 or email Patti at patti 4rbmayor@gmail.com to purchase tickets today.

Million Meal Event in Rancho Bernardo A HUGE Success
Posted by The Windermere Team | Leave A Comment »
More than 6000 volunteers, who helped to exceed the Million Meal goal by 100,000, gathered at the Church at Rancho Bernardo on March 20 and 21, for the Million Meal Food Packaging event by the Friends and Family Community Connection (FFCC) to help feed the hungry in Tanzania, Haiti and right here in San Diego.
Phil Harris of FFCC commented to the participants, “It was a joy and honor to work together to accomplish such a noble task. These meals will change the destiny of so many hungry and homeless children and families in need around the world, and right here in San Diego. You were the answer to the cries and prayers of millions asking for help. Thanks for delivering.”
FFCC have already sent 300,000 meals to the Port of Los Angeles for transport to Tanzania. The meals are a specially prepared mix of nutritious and filling ingredients consisting of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and vitamins.
Aimee Cochrane of the Church at Rancho Bernardo said, “It was a blessing to have the support of our community, to which you and the Windermere family contributed immensely. The goal could not have been reached without the financial and volunteer support of Rancho Bernardo and the surrounding community.”
Steve Rodgers, President of Windermere Exclusive Properties stated, “When the opportunity to participate in this amazing global effort was presented to us, the true essence of what our Windermere family is about came flooding to the surface. It was an honor to partner with these wonderful organizations to do something so fulfilling.”

Great Excitement at the New Agent Expo at San Diego City College
Posted by The Windermere Team | Leave A Comment »
Steve Rodgers, President of Windermere Exclusive Properties San Diego and Rich Johnson Branch Manager of the Rancho Bernardo office, spent the day this past Saturday at an annual Real Estate Expo which provided information and lectures to licensees in training.
Hosted by the San Diego Association of Realtors/San Diego City College Real Estate Advisory Committee and held at the satellite campus of San Diego City college east of Downtown, the event was focused on providing potentially new agents a forum to listen to and meet representatives from different real estate companies and provided lectures and panel discussions from keynote speakers such as SDAR President elect Mark Marquez. “The turnout was impressive and to get a chance to see so many enthusiastic potential real estate agents was refreshing” stated Michael Rodgers, a Windermere team member.
At one point Steve Rodgers began to talk to a handful of people at Windermere’s booth in the lobby and a few minutes later he had more than 20 people listening to him. San Diego City College offers real estate classes which taken in progression prepare students to enter the real estate market. There were people from all ages and walks of life and one gentleman was a retiree who had several new ideas for creating his own new real estate niche. Another was a 19 year old college student from Turkey who had many questions and was impressive with his accomplishments and future goals.
For Windermere, it was an opportunity to provide value to the community. It was also a chance to talk to new agents and seek out candidates that would benefit and contribute to the enrichment of the company.
