“Just follow the colors!”

Flossie! As she started showing me some of the beautiful beaded jewelry she’s created lately, I found myself thinking “who in my family would I give this one to? What about this other one? What if , as often I’m tempted to do when buying gifts for others, I just keep them all to myself!”

Hers are exquisite, delicate pieces that harmoniously integrate form, proportion and color. The quality of her work evidences the care and love poured into everything she handcrafts. We sat over a cup of hot tea in the family room of this beautiful house I sold her, overlooking green belts and open space, her backyard full of flowers and sunshine. I watched her cats’ emerald green gazes, inspecting me from the distance as we relaxed in conversation, and in no time noticed their “you are ok” signals in “tail language”!

I asked her “How do you approach your designs, what inspires you? She smiled and said: “I just follow the colors!”

Rubies rock!

Flossie Trout has art in her veins that naturally flows through her whole being. Her intuition guides her through an effortless creative process. Each necklace, each earring mirrors her spiritual beauty and ever joyful nature. Though always inclined towards jewelry design it wasn’t until a few years ago, after retiring and moving from northern California to Oceanside, that her talent unfolded.

Today, she’s branded herself as the Trout House of Jewelry and Gifts, and what started as a hobby for this incredibly dynamic young retiree, has turned into a growing small business with an increasing following. Her jewelry can be found at Provence Salon and Boutique in ♪ beautiful, beautiful Bonsall ♪!

She also organizes special trunk shows with other artisans year round and brings them to private groups, retirement homes, assisted living facilities and special fairs. As a result of her success, Flossie branched out into antiquing, another passion of hers. I must say, she’s totally got an eye for treasures; she “hunts” for unique pieces and tells me how fun it is researching and finding all about the history behind them to share with customers. People gravitate towards her antiques display at The Country Porch on Old Town Front Street, Temecula.

Flossie’s enthusiasm is contagious, one feels happy just to be in her presence, and then falls in love with all these beauties she produces. Hey, it’s the Holidays: let’s go shopping!
One can have it all!
