Touching Hearts, Impacting Lives – Pre-Event Wine Tasting Benefit & Silent Auction Fundraiser

Please join us on Monday, March 29th, 6:30-8:30 PM at the La Costa Grill for this wonderful event to help the underprivileged children at the Casa Hogar Orphanage in Cabo San Lucas.  My husband and I are very involved in this area of Mexico and feel strongly about giving back to the community in anyway we can.  We are hosting a Pre-Event Wine Tasting Benefit & Silent Auction Fundraiser at the La Costa Grill.   For $50 (tax deductable) you can experience an extraordinary sampling of fine wine and food prepared on-site by our award-winning  Chef, Chuck Samuelson, enjoy the company of other generous folks, and with your help fulfill some of the needs of these children and bring hope and love back into their hearts.

All proceeds go directly to the orphanage and provides financial assistance in the areas of education, health and nutrition.  Please RSVP to Betty Spining at 214-632-3355.  She can also provide you with information on the Cabo Celebrity Golf Classic in April if you are interested in participating.  This is the main fundraiser for the orphanage.  From our hearts to yours, let’s show we care.

What Everybody Ought to Know About What is Happening in Cabo – Is it Safe?

masthead1It is important for you to know that Los Cabos is very safe from both swine flu and drug violence!  Some of what you have been hearing may in fact be true about some areas of Mexico, but you can rest assured that it does not pertain to Los Cabos, or to any part of the entire state of Baja California Sur which is where Los Cabos is located.

El_Arco[1]Not one confirmed flu case has been recorded there. And for those of you who don’t know, Cabo is far from all this hype: a 1,000+ mile drive from the closest major city (Tijuana and San Diego).  Read THE FACTS ABOUT SWINE FLUE IN LOS CABOS, MEXICO,  which is a blog about how Los Cabos remains safe from Swine Flu.

It also seems that now that the overhyped fear about recession has finally retreated into the background, Mexico’s several decade old “drug war” is once again at the center of prime time news.  But what the media isn’t telling you is crucial and this lax news reporting has generated some irresponsible assumptions.  What else is new.   Instead of reporting where the violence is taking place, the news reports regularly call it “violence in Mexico”.  The real epicenter of violence is taking place on Mexico’s mainland, mostly in the city of Juarez which is 1,800 plus mile drive from Cabo. Even Tijuana is over 1,000 miles away.  Is anyone in Milwaukee worried about what’s going on in Los Angeles?  Probably not, but you could drive from Milwaukee to LA faster than you could drive from Los Cabos to Juarez.

In fact, the whole state of Texas has more to be worried about geographically speaking than Los Cabos does. This tiny enclave, nestled at the tip of the Baja Penninsula, is thousand of miles and an entire sea away from Juarez.  Yet El Paso is less than two miles away from Juarez, which is ground zero on drug related violence in Mexico.  Actually, Tucson, Phoenix or Palm Springs are all much closer to Juarez.

Also, with the peso’s recent devaluation, investment in Los Cabos is more productive than ever.  There’s simply no place like Cabo to live or play, and the continued development of five star properties, signature golf courses, marinas, etc. makes Los Cabos one of the most attractive foreign areas for second or retirement home purchases in the world.  The short distance by plane from the U.S. makes it a no-brainer.

Just a reminder about our two international listings on the East Cape in Los Cabos.  Unbelievable fractional opportunity to own a beautiful beachfront vacation home in the newest and hottest development area of Cabo for just $156,000.   Also, ocean view and ocean front lots available from $130K to $690K and you can build your dream home.  5% commission
