Exclusive Properties Invites the Bloodmobile to Cruisin’ Grand

Exclusive Properties plans to add a new element of community service to Escondido’s popular Cruisin’ Grand classic car show, a blood drive. On June 8 the Bloodmobile will be accepting donations from the Escondido Exclusive Properties parking lot from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m

Red Hot Rods line the Streets of Cruisin’ Grand in EscondidoAs the historic downtown streets fill with cruisers and spectators, Exclusive Properties volunteers will be helping the San Diego Blood Bank by giving blood and assisting others who want to donate.

“It promotes humanity and the spirit of giving back,” said Exclusive Properties agent Linda Grubbs, who initiated the drive. “I’ve always given blood and I wanted to build that bond with Escondido.”

Grubbs has a rare blood type, so she donates regularly to help the Blood Bank replenish their supply. “They can barely keep a week’s worth of it,” said Grubbs. “I give at least every three months.”

Exclusive Properties is a regular participant in Cruisin’ Grand; they set up a booth outside their Escondido office each Friday to raise donations and awareness for local charities.

“We believe in giving time and resources to supporting events that enrich the communities where we live and work,” said Jim Browne, a founder of Exclusive Properties. “That’s why we partner with some of the finest organizations and support some of our regions’ premier events.”

Volunteer Donates BloodThe San Diego Blood Bank has stayed in the forefront of transfusion medicine, added donor centers and bloodmobiles to cover all of the region’s neighborhoods, diversified the blood bank’s donor base and formed lasting partnerships with organizations from all over the San Diego community.

As more than 400 pre-1974 American-made hotrods, custom, vintage, classic cars and trucks begin their Friday night cruise down Grand, Exclusive Properties will be rallying community support for an outstanding local organization.

Please contact Linda Grubbs at (760) 931-6111 for more information.

Local Real Estate Agent’s Non Profit Program Goes National

Elissa Davey, Exclusive Properties Agent at the Garden of InnocenceIn 2006, Exclusive Properties Real Estate agent Elissa Davey founded the Garden of Innocence, a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide proper burials for abandoned children and her program is spreading nationwide.

With gardens planned for Las Vegas, St. Louis, Houston, New Jersey, Michigan and others, Davey plans to help cities across the U.S. provide a dignified place for abandoned and unidentified children to rest.

“It isn’t about me or what I did in the beginning,” said Davey. “It is about a tiny baby that was thrown away and needs the recognition and love of people to make a point that this child was here even for a short time.”

Davey, who said she was inspired by Hillary Clinton’s book, It Takes a Village: and Other Lessons Children Teach Us, received the “Hometown Heroes Award” in July 2002 for her commitment to community through her organization. However she says that the big story isn’t about her.

“We don’t know who started the Red Cross or Salvation Army; we just know it is there. I would like that to be the way Garden of Innocence is seen as well, it doesn’t matter how it got started, just that it exists.

Nearly 100 babies have been given proper burials in the Garden of Innocence in San Diego thanks to Davey and her co-founder Pastor Netreia Carroll as well as their team of volunteers.
