Pacific Highlands Ranch Residents Say Vote Yes on Prop C

Pacific Highlands Ranch Residents Urge You to Vote Yes on Prop C

So, what is Proposition C?  And, why is it an important proposition for Carmel Valley residents and residents of Pacific Highlands Ranch?

DoggirlPHRCurrently Pacific Highlands Ranch is a San Diego neighborhood without a park, elementary school, library, village center or other community services that were proposed when residents moved in.  The development of Pacific Highlands Ranch built by Pardee Homes was linked to Proposition M in the late 90′s which allowed for no further development of the community until Route 5/56 connector was completed.  Rather than wait the 10-15 year projected timeframe that it will take to complete this project, residents are urging people to vote yes on Proposition C.  This will allow the community to proceed with building the promised school, parks, libraries and village.

According to resident Dr. Clay Whiting, supporting Prop C will not cost you the tax payer a single penny.  In addition, he states that by supporting Prop C you will allow the community of Pacific Highlands Ranch (PHR) to move forward and be developed as originally proposed to the homeowners when they purchased their homes 5+ years ago.

Dr. Whiting stated that the residents of PHR need the support of the majority of City of San Diego voters to get Prop C passed. He went on to say that there is a lot of support for PHR in North County (and no opposition groups) but that they need as many YES votes as they can get to ensure Proposition C passes.

Currently residents of the Pacific Highlands Ranch neighborhood send their children to elementary schools as far away as Solana Highlands and Carmel Creek Elementary Schools.  These schools are nowhere near their homes.  Much of the impact of the lack of resources for this community is felt at the other shopping centers in Carmel Valley as well.  Many locals have complained about the overcrowding at Del Mar Highlands Town Center.  A village and shopping center in Pacific Highlands Ranch would ease this congestion according to supporters.

Pardee Homes, the developer of Pacific Highlands Ranch, is supporting Proposition C and the residents of Pacific Highlands Ranch.  For more information about Proposition C visit http://www.yes4rnp.com/.
