Windermere Golfs for a Cause

Windermere Exclusive Properties will host their third annual Golf Day on July 23 at Morgan Run in Rancho Santa Fe.

Golf Day gives Windermere the opportunity to relax and get to know each other,” said Debra Fine, the Windermere agent who organized the event.

This year, more than 20 Windermere agents, managers, family and friends will enjoy a day of golf and camaraderie. The day will be packed with contests, prizes, appetizers, a mobile drink cart and cash bar.

“What we look forward to the most is having fun and laughing a lot,” said Fine. “Last year everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food, prizes and drinks after the event.”

Participants can look forward to prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin. “Any money we get from the event goes to the Windermere Charitable Foundation,” said Fine, an avid golfer won both contests for the women last year.

Windermere, a company admired for its lively atmosphere and personable employees, encourages their agents to participate in the numerous social events they host.  Their offices regularly throw agent appreciation parties, company barbeques and happy hours.

As company owner Mark Loscher says, “The Windermere Way is a way of life, not just a way to work.”

Kimberly Sellars Impresses Lt. Col in U.S. Marine Corps

Windermere agent Kimberly Sellars enjoyed praise from Lt. Col Damphousse in the U.S. Marine Corp for her brilliant performance in the sale of his Escondido home. Damphousse was so impressed with Sellars performance, that he sent an outstanding letter of recommendation to Windermere management.

“The listing was unusual as, during this time, I was forward-deployed to Iraq with the U.S. Marine Corps and my wife was staying in Florida,” said Damphousse.

The challenging situation led the Damphousses to three different agents over several months; none of whom were able to bring much interest to the property.

Photo of Lt. Col Paul E. DamphousseSellars was undaunted by the situation and skillfully managed the entire listing via the phone, internet and fax.

“The time difference was an issue so, I made myself available very early in the morning or very late in the evening via phone or e-mail to communicate the previous day’s events,” said Sellars, who went beyond representing the Lt. Col and his wife as just an agent, but also put herself in their shoes and acted on their behalf.

“Her motivation, personality and aggressiveness in closing a deal for us was outstanding,” wrote Damphousse in a recent letter about Sellars. “Within 45 days Kimberly had brought in several clients and had two different offers on the home, far exceeding the cumulative efforts of the previous three Realtors®.”

Sellars, a San Diego resident of 30 years with more than six years of real estate experience, closed the listing within three weeks of an offer being accepted.

Despite the additional work of a demanding listing, Sellars considers this to among her most rewarding real estate experiences. “Working with Mr. Damphousse was an honor and a pleasure,” said Sellars. “During all of this, he was fighting a war for me and our Country. What more could anyone ask?”

Sellars has worked with several other military clients in the past and looks forward to helping them buy and sell properties in the future, whether they are in San Diego or overseas.

“If they plan to buy, I can send them houses currently on the market either by mail or e-mail. Should they need to sell, they can be assured that their home is in good hands,” said Sellars. “Thank goodness for communications venues that make this all possible!”

Damphousse, who described Sellars as “professional and thorough”, said that she stands out as one of the best Realtors® he had ever worked with and that he would recommend her services to anyone trying to sell or buy a home in San Diego.

Windermere & Realbird Launch New Site for Luxury Homes

Windermere Exclusive Properties and RealBird announced today the launch of LuxurySanDiegoEstates.com, a novel luxury real estate portal featuring all MLS listed homes with a price of $1.5 Million and above in San Diego, California.

Realbird Logo“San Diego is a top luxury real estate market and we are a technology driven brokerage, so we are always looking for new ways to market ourselves” noted Erica Vautier, Director of Marketing for Windermere Exclusive Properties.

“The new LuxurySanDiegoEstates.com portal is quite an improvement in terms of user friendliness and aesthetic appeal over other luxury home portals and will be a great addition to the ways we market properties. We hope to reach many new clients through this service”

All agents for Windermere Exclusive Properties will have access to this service; they are able to use the interactive maps for searches and can create single property websites to showcase their high end listings.

According to the American Affluence Research Center (AARC) there is continued optimism in the 12-month economic outlook of the wealthiest 10% of Americans, the 11 million households representing about half of all consumer income and spending and a third of the total US economy. The strong economy and low unemployment have created a strong market for luxury homes in such areas as Southern California.

Zoltan Szendro, CTO and Executive VP for RealBird said: “We wanted to apply our technology and know how to the luxury real estate segment. It takes special interface design know-how to create a portal that is appealing, classy, simple to use and therefore very effective. We are thrilled that we can launch this site with a reputable brokerage like Windermere Exclusive Propetries.”

LuxurySanDiegoEstates.com is designed to serve the home buying needs of those who are in the market for $1.5 million plus homes and condos – and be a way to watch the luxury market for the curious. It is based on a visually impressive full-screen map based portal powered by Google Maps, with a selection of aerial, hybrid, street or topographical maps. Upon mouse-over the user can quickly see a photo and the price of the listing. With just two clicks the user can bring up the Windermere detail page for any listing.

Any particular location of interest can be easily bookmarked and shared with the most popular social bookmarking sites, or it can be emailed to friends or relatives. The RSS based notification of new luxury properties is also a unique, novel feature in this industry by allowing users to get notification on newly listed luxury properties in a particular map extent.
